In Colorado it can get quite cold in the winter and it’s easy to get stuck doing the same thing every night. It’s so important to keep having fun with each other if you’re dating and definitely once you’re married! Below are a few ideas for different winter dates, I hope you enjoy and have fun together!
1. Ice Skating
So you have a couple options here. Find your local outdoor mall and go ice skating there for a fee around $12-$15 a person. Sometimes that includes rental skates. You could also go to the mountains and find a frozen lake. Most places, like Evergreen Lake, will have a place to rent ice skates for a decent price. There is something that feels so thrilling about ice skating on a frozen lake!
2. Visit the Ice castles
Finally they are back! I’m not sure if I’m the only one that gets really excited about this besides little kids, but it’s awesome! If you’re in Colorado this year the ice castles are sure to wow you. If anything you’ll be cold and have to snuggle up the whole time! Get your ticket here!
3. Snow Shoe / Winter Hike
So every year Kyle and I have a tradition with our friend’s David and Erica. We go on an EPIC winter hike. This usually means we are headed to Rocky Mountain National Park to explore. There is just something so romantic and magical about walking through a snow covered forest. Generally there are less people hiking in the winter, so if you’re lucky you’ll have the trail to yourself!
4. Hot Coco & a Movie
I’m not just talking any regular old coco either. This is DATE NIGHT get excited and make the best Hot Coco. Get fancy or get creative and find a unique recipe!
5. Cooking classes
This is an awesome way to have fun and learn something new together. Several places through out Denver also offer occasional free cooking classes. Be on the look out for them!
6. Mall Dare Date
This might not be for everyone, but for the more adventurous and daring pairs I promise you’ll be belly laughing as you watch your partner complete these tasks!
7. Coffee Shop Game Night
When Kyle and I were dating our favorite coffee shop house was Stellas. Some nights they have live music and we would grab their board games and hang out! We are pretty competetive so there were a few times our enthusiasm was frowned on in such a chill atmosphere, but we had fun anyways!
I hope you enjoyed this list! I would love to hear from you if you did any of these date night ideas and see photos!
