Happy Friday!
I’ve always had a love and passion for photography for as long as I can remember. My dad would tell me stories about how he wanted to be a photographer in the navy (he was too smart though and tested out and became an engineer.) He flew a lot and would show me pictures from his travels all over the world with the Navy. I loved that these photos allowed me to go back in time and actually see a photo of the stories he would tell me! I also have a pretty terrible memory and most of my childhood that I remember you can trace back to a photo somewhere in our many photo books.
My earliest memories of photography involve me and my childhood best friend Caitlin, pulling out our digital cameras, getting all dressed up, and having photo shoots. Aside from the fact that we were both under 5 feet at the time, it didn’t stop us from dreaming we could be models, or at least pretending to be!
My graduation gift from high school was a DSLR camera. I was head over heels for this things and for the next 5 years I would wear this camera to the bone, taking it everywhere and documenting everything! I loved being able to capture beautiful photos that carried meaning and memory, and I love being able to do that for others as well!
The photos below were all taken the year I got this camera! (When I lived in Seattle)
There are a lot of things that get me excited and that I’m passionate about also. Stay tuned for future blog posts for more fun facts and silly stories!
Until Next Time,
Kari Joy
