We met at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC Times Square. Isaac was currently in Fort Dix, New Jersey for the Army and Brittany was in Lynchburg, Virginia where she was attending law school. They both happened to be in NYC for the weekend. Isaac was eating a burger at the Hard Rock and went to the bar to order a drink. He saw a group of women sitting at the bar and went to say "hello." Brittany and Isaac kept talking and, at the end of night, Isaac asked for Britany's number . . . but Brittany was taken at the time….
Sadie and Matt started off good friends. They met through a mutual friend and ended up working together! A short while later they actually ended up roommates, where their friendship grew. Sadie always loved Matt's sense of humor and how he always made her laugh! Matt loved Sadie's big heart and that she let him be a dork around her! Then after knowing each other about 2 years they started to see something more than friendship stirring and officially started dating! Fast forward about a year and Matt had a big surprise up his sleeve!! He was ready to ask Sadie to marry him and was looking for an epic and personal way to do it! They are big baseball fans, so Matt had the perfect idea!
They started off the day of their one year anniversary tubing and then had a nice lunch together at a local spot on an outdoor patio. After that they took the light rail downtown and headed to the Rockies game. This was a special night because it was the fireworks show. (I don’t know if anyone else reading this was at that fireworks show this year, but it has been labeled their BEST show yet!! The perfect show to propose at!!) After the game was over they stayed in their seats watching the firework show begin, and Matt got down on one knee and asked Sadie to marry him!
She was not expecting it to happen during the game and of course she said YES!!!!
We had a great time during their engagement session taking photos around the Golden area. Matt and Sadie have amazing chemistry and they are such caring people! They are really easy to hang out with and we discovered we share all the same dream vacation destinations!! Such as New Zealand!
I can't wait to celebrate them at their wedding next year!
Kyle and I met up with Jenna and Joel on a beautiful summer evening. We arrived at the Lakehouse in Evergreen a few hours before sunset so we could hang out by the water and be in the mountains! Jenna and Joel have contagious laughter so they were a lot of fun to be around. We loved hearing about how they met and the story of their engagement!
The two met a little over two years ago while they were both summer camp counselors and hit it off. When Joel was ready to propose he knew exactly where he was going to ask Jenna to marry him. It was Memorial day weekend and the two were back at the same summer camp they met at several years before.
Joel asked Jenna the night prior if she wanted to hike up to the top of a special rock they used to go to when they first started dating. So they got up at 4:30 am the next morning and they hiked up there just enjoying the soft sunrise and the joy of being in a place they loved! He started telling Jenna about their relationship and how much he loved how they've grown and what he's seen Christ do in and for them! He then handed her a note and while she was reading it, he got down on one knee. The last sentence in the note asked if Jenna would marry him! Of course she said yes!
Elizabeth and Tom's story feels like a classic romance to me. The two started off as long distance pen pals, getting to know eachother only through written letters. Elizabeth told Tom that if he wanted to get to know her it wouldn't be through social media or video chat dates. Instead they started their relationship by only writing letters to eachother as dear friends, updating one other on the latest things happening in life and penning their hearts desires. This build a slow and sturdy foundation for their relationship and they both fell in love with one another's hearts. Then after almost a year of writing back and forth Elizabeth agreed to meet in person. And well the rest is history, shortly after that they were engaged! They had an intimate wedding filled with friends and family. Everyone was holding back the tears as these two poured out their devotion to one another during their vows.
I'm inspired by Elizabeth and Tom's strong devotion to one another! I am cheering you on in your many years ahead in marriage. I am so happy you have found one another to do life with. You are an encouragement to me and a wrecking ball for the kingdom!
Amy and Brooks are probably some of the most adventurous people I have met! Their love of the outdoors and seeing new sites is strong for both of them. When I first spoke with Amy over the phone she was telling me of all the places she has traveled to with Brooks. They have been to so many places on my bucket list. When I met up with them a couple of weeks before their wedding they were telling me about the camper they were driving out of town to pick up. Their first stop, The Tetons!? (I'll admit I was pretty jealous!)
I was so excited when they told me about their intimate wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park. It ended up being the perfect day. I am so in awe of Amy as we visited several places around the park to take photos of them, she hiked up the trails in her dress and shoes, smiling and living in the moment!
